A lot of folks want an
alternative to the old, ugly “Beware of Dog” sign, and we
thought “Be Aware – the Dog Is” is an accurate description
of most of the canines we’ve known. Better still,
by donating as many signs as we sell to shelter and rescue groups across
the country, we hope that will enable them to raise extra funds for the
valuable and difficult work they do. We also hope the signs will help
increase public awareness of the need to respect dogs and all other
animals we share the planet with.
We’ve already donated a total of over 1,200 signs to groups such as
Dogs for the Deaf, Best Friends, the Finger Lakes SPCA, Tails of the
Tundra, German Shepherd Rescue of CNY, NEAD, Love4Canines, HOPE, the
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, Kay’s K-9 Rescue, and many
other SPCAs and rescue groups.
It’s also important that pet keepers post notices alerting
emergency crews that there are pets inside the home, in the event of a
fire or other catastrophe, so I’m including two window decals with
each sign ordered. (Note: veterinarians, please contact me about bulk
rates for such decals that you can give to your clients.) Animal welfare
agencies, please contact me if you would like to receive a donation of
